BGM project: daily life wall clock
andmother, grandchild and dog represent hour, minute and second hands respectively
all images courtesy of BGM project
this wall clock by BGM project doesn't indicate time by number and hands. instead,
the figures of a grandmother, grandchild and dog represent the hour, minute and second hands.
silhouettes of nature and daily life are arranged around the clock, and each figure moves
through these scenes to represent the time.

Mary and Max
Director: Adam Elliott
Cast: voices of Toni Collette, Eric Bana and Philip Seymour Hoffman
Releasing in cinemas: 9 April 2009
On the face of it Mary & Max doesn’t look particularly scintillating entertainment being the basically true tale of a long lasting pen friendship between two very different lonely souls. Yet it’s one of the most endearing films I’ve seen recently. Mary Dinkle a chubby eight year old girl living in Glen Waverley a Melbourne suburb in the 1970's, and Max Horowitz reclusive middle aged corpulent Jewish gentleman suffering Asperger’s Syndrome. Max abides in a poorer area of New York city, and attends Overeaters Anonymous. These unlikely characters each with their own set of problems correspond over 20 years, both experiencing climatic events in their lives during that time.....and the story goes on....
Excelent!!

Nacho Carbonell
The 28-year-old Spanish designer Nacho Carbonell is, at heart, a storyteller — and one with a vivid imagination at that. For ‘‘Craft Punk,’’ the Design Academy Eindhoven graduate brought a heap of discarded Fendi leather scraps to life in a series of beastly creatures (some of which could be ridden or sat upon). His womblike papier-mâché Evolution chairs and benches — handmade from the newspapers that accumulated in his house — are his retreat from information overload. Such ideas are not so much a statement about the environment (though he insists that ‘‘waste’’ is as good a material to work with as anything you could pick up in a store) as they are an attempt to imbue inanimate design objects with an emotional core. For the coming Design Miami/Basel fair, he is making a chair out of leaves and sawdust. ‘‘It’s a chair with a goal,’’ he said: ‘‘It wants to become a tree.’’
freitag compost bags
swiss bag producers markus and daniel freitag of freitag were invited by the walking chair gallery
to create an installation/exhibition as part of vienna design week 09. titled 'urban gardening'
the show aims to direct the general public to be involved in recycling and encourages
people to get involved in gardening within their local community.
the duo designed 100 limited edition freitag compost bags for the installation. each were
given to guests on the opening night, granted that they would return to the gallery with
their compost and place it in the compost bin within 3 months.
the freitag brothers specially prepared a soup for guests on opening night, using their
food scraps to start the compost bin.

Black Meteoric Star
Black Meteoric Star and Assume Vivid Astro Focus will be here in Athens for one of the last shows .
7/11 at BIOS
PEIRAIOS 84
Starts at : 23.30
Admission : 10 euro
Black Meteoric Star is the debut long player from Gavin Russom in his overtly dancefloor guise. You may remember Russom and Delia Gonzalez's cosmically minded Days of Mars from 2005; a starry-eyed jumble reminiscent of the best bits of Brian Eno, Steve Reich, Klaus Schulze and Carl Craig, it's still the spaciest thing DFA has ever released.

Gilbert&George
19/11 till 9/1 2010,Bernier Eliades,Eptaxalkou 11,athens
Gilbert and George are two contemporary artists who work together as a duo.
Gilbert Proesch was born in San Martin de Tor in Italy, his mother tongue being Ladin rather than Italian[2]. He studied art at the Wolkenstein School of Art and Hallein School of Art in Austria and the Akademie der Kunst, Munich, before moving to England. George Passmore was born in Plymouth in the United Kingdom, to a single mother in a poor household. He studied art at the Dartington Hall College of Art and the Oxford School of Art, then part of the Oxford College of Technology, which eventually became Oxford Brookes University. The two first met on 25 September 1967 while studying sculpture at St Martins School of Art, now Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, one of six colleges in the University of the Arts, London. The two claim they came together because George was the only person who could understand Gilbert's rather poorly spoken English. In a 2002 interview with Daily Telegraph they said of their meeting: "it was love at first sight.". They got married in 2008.
For many years, Gilbert & George have been residents of Fournier Street, Spitalfields, East London. Their entire body of work has been created in, and focused on, London's East End, which they see as a microcosm. According to George, "Nothing happens in the world that doesn't happen in the East End

Grizzly Bear
Grizzly Bear released Yellow House in 2006. It was a slow, steady and stunning ride—boundless in scope and elegance. Given the album's otherworldly charm and staying power, it's hard to believe three years have gone by.
That might seem like a long time. But given Grizzly Bear's hectic touring schedule, including stints with Radiohead, TV On The Radio and Feist—as well as several performances during a five-night tribute to Paul Simon at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, a co-headlining show with the L.A. Philharmonic, and the release of Friend, a 10-song EP of re-recorded and re-worked songs, collaborations and covers—all of this seems very reasonable. They've been busy.
But about a year ago, singer/songwriter Ed Droste, drummer Christopher Bear, bassist Chris Taylor and singer/songwriter/guitarist Daniel Rossen —whose other band, Department of Eagles, released the sublime In Ear Park last fall—began passing demos around and working together creatively in different pairs and permutations. A few months later, blessed with producer/engineer Chris Taylor's willingness to transport his recording equipment, they began the recording process for Veckatimest, which would unfold over the next six months in three very singular locations. And in many ways, it is the recording process that reveals this record—each space catalyzing different interactions, inspirations, and ultimately, songs.
Rockets in a coma!
Οι ROCKETS IN A COMA είναι ένα νέο project που αποτελείται από δύο νέους ανθρώπους,την Elektra και τον Java Kid.

Julian Opie
Over the course of the last 25 years the British artist Julian Opie has communicated a unique vision of humanity, largely via appropriation of the various representations which help us all to traverse the modern world – those ubiquitous faceless matchstick figures that adorn everything from lavatory doors to emergency exits. It’s a precise and graphic artistic language of reduction that has often led to him being misunderstood as an artist primarily interested in communicating a sense of modern alienation and human disconnection. This, however is a gross misreading of Opie’s intent. In fact, his work has presented us all with a neutral, pared-down and instantly recognisable evocation of humanity and the modern world, into which we are invited to feed our own psychological interpretations, thoughts and feelings
Gareth Pugh
At 14, Pugh began working as a costume designer for the English National Youth Theatre.[4] He started his fashion education at City of Sunderland College and finished his degree in Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins in 2003 He interned with Rich Owens in Paris.[2] His final collection at St. Martins, which used balloons to accentuate models' joints and limbs (a technique that would become one of his trademarks), attracted that attention of the senior fashion editor of Dazed & Confused magazine, who placed one of his designs on the magazine's cover shortly thereafter.[3] Pugh was selected to participate in British reality show The Fashion House two months after his graduation,[3] which he would later call "horrible" and his "only other option [to being on] the dole
brian dettmer: cassette tape skeletons
atlanta based artist brian dettmer creates intricate sculptural skeletons using altered cassette tapes.
dettmer began creating the pieces in 2005 as he was thinking about the demise of analog media in
the increasingly digital world. one day as dettmer was walking down the street he spotted a dead
bird and an idea hit him. ‘here was this thing that used to live, its used to fly around and play
a vital role, and now it is dead and all that remains is the solid material.’ dettmer was quick to
extrapolate this idea linking the bird’s life to that of the cassette. he transformed the skeleton of old
cassettes into literal animal skeletons. this lead to a series of 12 human skulls made from tapes,
each with a different theme like heavy metal or hard rock. the most complex piece in this body of
work is a full skeleton made from over 180 cassettes. all the pieces are made using only cassettes
tapes with no glue, tape or other outside materials. while dettmer couldn’t revel his process to
designboom, he did tell us that he heats the plastic up so he can literally form and weld them with
his wet hands and other tools.
